ABOUT ABOUT

Come out to 2nd District Brewing for our First Thursday Meeting at 6:30pm to talk about open primaries and minority party candidates, and minority party representation, in the city.

The first hour we will be speaking with partners of the Open Primaries PA  coalition - Jenn Bullock of Independent Pennsylvanians, Pat Christmas on behalf of League of Women Voters Philly and Committee of Seventy, and Micah Sims of Common Cause PA. Discussion will revolve around the coalition's commitment to open and free elections in Pennsylvania that lead to responsive and accountable government. They will also be taking your questions!

The second hour will be a panel discussion of minority party candidates, and their representation, in the city of Philadelphia. We'll discuss how city government is structured for minority parties, mostly relating to City Council, but also talk about how representation in a dominantly one-party city is achieved. We will be joined by Michael Bradley (candidate for City Council 2nd District - Republican), Kendra Brooks (candidate for City Council At-Large - Working Families Party), Joe Cox (candidate for City Council At-Large - Independent), Dan Pearson (committeeperson in the 36th Ward - Republican), and either Maj Toure or Matt Baltsar on behalf of the Libertarian Party.

Should be fun! Come on out and help us celebrate our new location, enjoy some delicious beer and food, and talk about our community's elected leaders!

Bring a neighbor!
